Support & assistance for our nation’s nuclear workers
Assistance
Many sick workers have tried to seek help through the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program (EEOICPA) only to give up on the complicated claims process or to be denied.
By pairing experienced advocates who know the EEOICPA claims process with medical professionals who have a deep understanding of work-related exposures, NWIA is able to build an accurate and complete account of every worker’s sacrifice.
NWIA helps workers get the benefits and help they deserve.
Outreach & Education
As many workers continue to get sick the need has never been greater for outreach and education. NWIA gets deeply involved with the communities surrounding nuclear facilities so all workers have access to the help they deserve.
In addition, NWIA works hard to make sure every worker gets the full scope of medical benefits and services afforded to them. The institute assists doctors and medical service providers with registering for the EEOICPA program so workers have more care options.
Representation
Nuclear Workers Institute of America believes every sick worker deserves the help they’re entitled to. NWIA continues to fight on behalf of nuclear workers to improve and expand EEOICPA benefits and make the claims system friendlier and more efficient.
History
NWIA was founded on the principle of giving back to the community. After encountering people who have tried and failed to file a claim successively, we recognized a great need to help others through the EEOICPA claim process. As long as there is a need in our communities, we will continue to provide free assistance through the claim process, education, volunteerism, and outreach events.
“I applied twice for my husband and been denied both times. April reviewed all our documents and was finally able to get the claim approved.” -Joan Bell
